Friday’s traffic: Park Road finally reopens near Woodlawn

Lanes finally reopened on northbound Park Road near Woodlawn Road at about 8:30 a.m. Friday after crews spent hours working to restore power to the area.

Otherwise, traffic was proceeding normally. Congestion was beginning to build on Interstate 77 South between Huntersville and Charlotte. The I-485 outer loop was also backed up near Charlotte-Douglas International Airport.

West Third Street will be closed between Church and Tryon streets uptown beginning at 9 a.m. while a tower is erected for the 300 South Tryon project. The road will remain closed through Sunday.

Park Road will also go down to one lane in each direction at Seneca Place for utility work beginning Friday evening and lasting through Sunday.
