Tractor trailer carrying mobile home crashes in Charlotte, some I-485 lanes reopen

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police said a tractor trailer carrying a mobile home crashed on Interstate 485 around 10:30 a.m. Thursday, shutting down the inner loop lanes close to the Gaston County line.

Two lanes of the I-485 inner loop at Moores Chapel Road reopened in the afternoon but slow-downs were expected. All lanes were expected to re-open after 6:30 p.m., according to Drive NC.

Previously, all four lanes were shut down and drivers were diverted around exit 12.

As of 11 a.m., Medic had transported four patients to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

At least two cars were pulled from beneath the crashed mobile home, according to WSOC, the Observer’s news partner.
