12 people injured in I-77 crash involving multiple vehicles near Davidson

Twelve people were injured in a crash near Davidson on Wednesday during the lunch rush hour, resulting in MEDIC sending a mass casualty bus.

The crash occurred at 11:53 a.m. near exit 30 on Interstate 77 southbound, MEDIC said. The injuries were minor.

Multiple vehicles were involved and one of three lanes was closed but expected to return to normal before 1 p.m. , according to the DriveNC map. A trash bag blocking part of the highway at the time of the crash was also reported by Drive NC. It was cleared shortly after.
