Couple’s 31-room Lake Norman waterfront mansion for sale for $18.5 million
A Florida couple are selling their 31-room Lake Norman mansion for $18.5 million, Premier Sotheby’s International Realty officials said Friday.
The 11,346-square-foot, Harry Schrader-designed waterfront estate is located on an eastern Lincoln County peninsula and is available fully furnished, according to its listing.
Built in 2020 by Kingswood Custom Homes, the mansion on Norman Estates Drive includes seven bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and a half-bathroom.
Public records show the home is owned by Florida philanthropist Donald Young and his wife, Kelly, through a limited liability corporation.
Young is CEO of Everon, a security firm with 5,000 employees across 100 offices and more than 300,000 customers, according to its LinkedIn profile. The Youngs have a private, charitable, family foundation in Celebration, Florida, and a home in Kissimmee, Florida.
The Charlotte Observer left a message on Donald Young’s cell phone Saturday morning.
Lakeside primary suite, high-ceiling family room
The Youngs’ Lake Norman mansion is located in the gated Norman Estates community, on the same peninsula as Lincoln County-run Beattys Ford Park.
The main level of the home includes a lakeside primary suite, open gathering spaces and a chef’s kitchen that connects to outdoor living areas, its listing shows. A fitness studio, bar and a high-ceiling family room lead to an outdoor kitchen, pool and spa.
The property has sunrise and sunset views across the lake, according to the listing.
The estate also has a theater, regulation pickleball court, bar, five-car garage and whole-home generator.
A private guest wing includes its own entrance, garage access, screened porch, bedroom and living area.
Outside, the estate has covered terraces, a screened porch and an infinity-edge pool and spa overlooking the lake. A private dock includes a boat lift, dual jet ski lifts and an upper-level sun deck.
