Charlotte man killed on I-85
A Charlotte man was killed Sunday afternoon in a wreck that shut down part of I-85 for several hours.
N.C. Highway Patrol said Christopher Allen Grant, 31, died in the accident on northbound I-85 near Statesville Avenue. N.C. Trooper John Burgin said Grant was traveling at high speed and weaving in and out of lanes about 2 p.m. before hitting a median and overturning several times. Alcohol was a factor, Burgin said.
Three lanes of traffic were shut down for about two hours, according to the N.C. Department of Transportation.
