One person shot in uptown Monday after woman called 911 about a man with a gun

A man was shot in the leg in uptown Charlotte and taken to the hospital early Monday, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department.

At approximately 7:30 a.m. officers were sent to the 400 block of W. 5th Street near the VUE apartments in uptown. A woman had called 911 and said a man was threatening her and her friends with a gun, according to police.

When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the leg, according to CMPD.

No arrests or other information has been released by authorities yet, and CMPD said the investigation is ongoing.
