Target stores in Charlotte got fake bomb threats, CMPD says
Police on Tuesday said law enforcement agencies across the U.S. are investigating bomb threats made against Target stores, including locations in Charlotte.
“At this time, there is no indication of any validity to the threats,” Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police wrote in a statement on social media. “There appears to be a trend of emails with similar threats made in other states today.”
It’s unclear who is behind the threats.
Police said no suspicious or dangerous items were located in any local Target stores in Charlotte.
Just outside Cincinnati, two Target stores threatened were reported as re-open on Tuesday afternoon.
Multiple threats throughout May and June led to a series of evacuations and heightened awareness at Target stores nationwide.
