‘Altercation’ ends with one dead near Spectrum Center in uptown Charlotte, CMPD says
A dispute involving multiple people turned deadly on East Trade Street in uptown Charlotte Sunday, Dec. 8, according to Charlotte Mecklenburg police.
The identity of the male who died has not been released.
Investigators say the dispute happened around 4 p.m. in the 300 block of East Trade, a block that includes both the Transit Center and Spectrum Center.
“Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious male subject,” CMPD said. “Preliminary information indicates that an altercation occurred involving the subject, Strategic Security employees and other nearby civilians.”
The injured male was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead, CMPD said. A cause of death was not released.
