Charlotte man identified as victim in Fort Mill killing near Carowinds at state line
A Charlotte man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting Monday in South Carolina near the North Carolina state line, according to the coroner and arrest warrants.
Linster Rasberry, 48, died at the scene Monday morning after being shot before 6 a.m. on Foothills Way, York County Coroner Sabrina Gast said. The area is behind a Circle K gas station off Carowinds Boulevard near Exit 90 of I-77.
Duan Ralphielle Partlow, 46, of Sharon in western York County, is charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime, police and court records show.
Partlow allegedly walked up to Rasberry’s vehicle and shot him with a handgun, according to arrest warrants in the case obtained by The Herald. The warrants state deputies have video surveillance footage.
Partlow was arrested about four hours after the killing in a traffic stop near York, Sheriff Tony Breeden said.
The shooting happened after an argument between Partlow and Raspberry that escalated into violence, Breeden alleged in a statement.
Partlow remains in the York County jail, records show.
