Gov. Josh Stein offers $25,000 reward for information on 2024 NC killing

Gov. Josh Stein on Friday announced a reward of up to $25,000 for information in a 2024 killing.

Angelo Markantonakis, 26, was shot and killed the morning of Dec. 24, 2024, in a home invasion on Windy Rush Road in Kannapolis, Charlotte Observer news partner WSOC reported.

Markantonakis was shot twice. His girlfriend, Arianna Black, and their 3-year-old son were home at the time, according to the governor’s press release.

The Kannapolis Police Department is looking for three suspects in connection with the shooting. The reward is offered for “information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder.”
