Man shot near south Charlotte train tracks after altercation dies at hospital

A 23-year-old man who was shot near train tracks in south Charlotte on Monday evening died after being taken to the hospital, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

The shooting occurred at 6:30 p.m. in the 6100 block of South Boulevard near the Norfolk Southern train tracks, a CMPD press release said.

The man killed was Zephaniah Adewale Little Rivers, according to a police report. He was shot after an altercation at a nearby business, the press release said.

Police did not specify which business, and did not say what they believe led to the fight and shooting.

Police had reported no arrests as of Tuesday morning.

The incident report said the victim did not know the suspect.
