Charlotte police didn’t initially say who they arrested on Wednesday when officers in militarized gear, with military-style vehicles, rolled into an east Charlotte neighborhood.

It turns out it was a juvenile, CMPD said in response to a records request. Because of that, police said they couldn’t provide further information.

Officers arrested the juvenile just before 11:30 a.m. on Carriage Drive Circle in east Charlotte.

SWAT was helping serve a warrant, CMPD spokesperson Brian Gallagher said Wednesday. The department would not release any more information about the incident.

Police were in the area around 10:40 a.m. and told neighbors to shelter in place.

A video showed a battering ram vehicle cruising down a street. And a helicopter hovered.
