Multiple people were injured in a vehicle crash on Interstate 485 in northwest Charlotte Thursday night that caused a traffic backup after lanes were shut down.

Three people had non-life threatening injuries; a fourth person was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, MEDIC said.

The crash occurred near the Outer Loop of I-485 near Brookshire Boulevard at 7:50 p.m., according to DriveNC, which tracks traffic incidents. The crash shut down exits 14 and 16. Traffic was estimated to be affected until midnight, DriveNC said.
