Charlotte-Mecklenburg police identified a 62-year-old man as the bicyclist killed in a vehicle crash on the city’s east side Saturday night in a press release Tuesday.

Michael Anthony Hamilton was riding a bike in the 1900 block of Milton Road at 11:03 p.m. when the crash occurred, CMPD said. Police did not say how his bike and a vehicle collided.

MEDIC pronounced Hamilton dead at the scene. The driver of a 2024 Chevrolet Malibu was not impaired and was uninjured, police said. Speed was not a factor in the crash, CMPD said.

Toxicology results are pending for Hamilton.
