1 killed, 2 critically hurt at southwest Charlotte apartment community, CMPD says

One person was fatally shot, and two others were critically injured during an assault at the Residences At Cedar Creek in southwest Charlotte, according to police.

Identities of the three people involved have not been released.

The assault happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 7200 block of Forest Point Boulevard, which runs parallel to Interstate 77 near Nations Ford Road.

“Upon arrival, officers discovered two victims who had sustained gun shot wounds and an additional victim who sustained a serious injury,” CMPD said in an April 15 news release.

“A total of three individuals were transported to a nearby hospital where one victim was pronounced deceased. The other two individuals remain in critical but stable condition.”

Investigators say all the people involved in the incident have been identified, and police are “not looking for any additional persons of interest.”

Details of a motive for the gunfire have not been released.
