Charlotte police investigating shooting of teenager in Cherry neighborhood

Someone reported that a teenage boy was shot “multiple times” in a Charlotte neighborhood on Monday afternoon and left with life-threatening injuries, according to a CMPD report.

It happened around 3:23 p.m on Baxter Street in the Cherry neighborhood near Midtown, according to the incident report filed by police. The 17-year-old victim was taken to the hospital.

No one had been charged, and the report says the suspect is “not known to victim.”

Police declined to comment but confirmed they are investigating. They asked that anyone with information contact Charlotte Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600.
