Woman hospitalized after someone shoots at vehicle in south Charlotte

A 22-year-old woman was shot while riding in a vehicle in south Charlotte on May 30, according to a police report.

The woman was one of four people riding in a Tesla Model Y at 2:25 a.m. when an unknown person fired shots at the vehicle on Tyvola Road, not far from Interstate 77, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg police report said.

No one else was injured, the report said. The woman was hospitalized with a serious injury.

The shooting caused $2,000 in damage to the vehicle, the report said.

No arrest has been reported.
