Two juveniles and an adult were shot during an “incident” in uptown Charlotte’s First Ward, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg police.

It happened around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of North Davidson Street, which is lined with homes.

“Upon arrival, officers located one juvenile victim who had sustained gunshot wounds and was transported to a hospital,” CMPD said in a June 17 social media alert.

“A short time later an adult victim and juvenile victim arrived at a nearby hospital with gunshot wounds. Preliminary information indicates all three victims are from the same incident.”

Details of a suspect and motive have not been released.

The incident is being investigated as an assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

It marks the second instance of gun violence in uptown this week. On Sunday, June 14, two people were wounded by shots fired near Romare Bearden Park, CMPD said. Two arrests have been made in that case, CMPD says. The two wounded people are expected to recover, police said.
