Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officials declined to say if they have a suspect in the death of Sa’Niya Briana Charise Latimore. She was killed in an apartment in the 1100 block of Scaleybark Road just after 9:15 p.m., police said.

“Officers got several 911 calls in reference to someone fighting in an apartment,” CMPD Major Brad Koch told reporters at the scene. “When they arrived, they located a female who was pronounced deceased on scene. We’re still very early in the investigation.”

Koch declined to say how Latimore died.

He urged anyone with information about Latimore’s killing to call the Charlotte Crime Stoppers anonymous tips line at 704-334-1600 or CMPD Detective Luke Amos at 704-432-8477.
