Investigators suspect foul play in man’s disappearance, seen digging under home

Investigators suspect foul play in the disappearance of a man who has been missing since May and could be seen digging beneath his home Wednesday night.

The missing man is Richard Allen Hable, 47. He’s 6-feet tall and 200 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes and was last seen at his home on Bondhaven Road.

Late Wednesday, WSOC recorded images of officers digging beneath Hable’s white trailer on Bondhaven Road. The news station reported that the Mecklenburg Medical Examiner was on the scene.

The person who reported Hable missing had not heard from him since May 2015.

In a statement late Wednesday, police said they suspected foul play “and they are concerned for (Hable’s) well being.

Police encouraged anyone with information about Hable to call 911 immediately. Tipsters can also call Crime Stoppers at 704-334-1600. Tipsters are eligible for rewards for information that leads to an arrest.
