Mooresville teen accused of vandalism, theft at Statesville airport

Statesville police have arrested a Mooresville teenager in connection with vandalism and thefts at Statesville Regional Airport last month.

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a second person involved in the case. The incident happened Dec. 26 at the airport’s Civil Air Patrol hangar.

Police charged Robert Noah Abruzzino, 19, with felony breaking and entering, larceny after breaking or entering, damage to property and first-degree trespassing. Abruzzino was in the Iredell County jail on $7,500 bail.

Light fixtures and van windows were broken, computers were damaged and fire extinguishers were discharged, police said. File cabinets, flags, uniforms and field equipment sets were stolen.

Anyone with information about the case or the identity of the other person involved is asked to call Statesville police at 704-878-3516 or Iredell Crime Stoppers at 704-662-1340. Callers can remain anonymous.
