Williams is on the N.C. Sex Offender Registry after being convicted of statutory rape of a child and indecent assault and battery on a child under 14 in Massachusetts in 2005, the sheriff’s office said.
He has three convictions in Iredell, Alexander and Gaston counties for sex offender-fail to register a new address and has charges pending in Iredell County for failing to register.
The sheriff’s office began investigating the secret peeping after a report was filed with investigators April 26.
