COVID-flu dual tests are available in Charlotte. Here’s where to get one.
COVID-19 and the flu have similar symptoms, so it can be tough to know which virus you have if you get sick.
Instead of getting tested for both viruses separately, Charlotte residents can now test simultaneously for COVID-19 and influenza A and B.
The test involves a single nasal swab that will be used to test for both respiratory illnesses, according to Carolina Pharmacy.
Here’s where the dual test is available in Charlotte, who should take it and where to get free at home COVID tests.
Where is the COVID and flu test available in Charlotte?
The COVID and flu test is available at all Carolina Pharmacy locations.
There are two Carolina Pharmacy locations in Charlotte, at 8035 Providence Rd. #300 and 3039 South Blvd., Suite F. You can make an appointment by calling the Arboretum location at 704-909-4700, the South End location at 980-443-4910, or on the Carolina Pharmacy website.
The test is also offered at Rapid Diagnostics, 16631 Lancaster Hwy., Suite F, for $119. Appointments can be made by calling 980-430-1373, or online at RapidTestCLT.com.

Who should get the COVID and flu test?
The dual test is recommended for those who experience COVID or flu symptoms, according to Carolina Pharmacy, including:
Cough
Fever
Shortness of breath
Fatigue
Sore throat
Runny or stuffy nose
Headache
Muscle or body aches
How long do COVID and flu test results take?
The combo test takes around 30 minutes to process at Rapid Diagnostics, according to its website.
Test results from Carolina Pharmacy are usually available within 1-2 days, according to its website.
Are at-home COVID tests available?
After the program was paused in September due to low supply, the Biden Administration reopened its partnership with the U.S. Postal Service to mail free at-home COVID tests, Politico reported.
You can request up to four free tests at COVIDTests.gov.
To place an order on the website, enter your name and address. Updates about the order are available by providing an email.
At-home COVID tests can also be purchased from local pharmacies like CVS and Walgreens.
