Lake life is for summer, right? Not quite, when you combine our mild winters with Lake Norman area heated dining patios.
Recently, we told you about the best restaurants in the Charlotte area for waterfront dining. Right about now, you may be thinking it’s time to head inside for the season, but we have a Plan B.
Here are a few of our favorite Lake Norman-area heated patios:
The Cabin
Location: 400 N Harbor Place Dr, Davidson, NC, United States, 28036
The place described as a “nice, cozy nook with a good lake view” also has patio heaters to go along with live music. Show up for a night of fun and dancing — that will keep you warm, as well!
Eddie’s on Lake Norman
Location: 643 Williamson Rd, Mooresville, NC 28117
Cuisine: American, brunch, seafood
Try the crab cake on a bun with blue crab meat, and don’t miss for the famous ice cream crepe drizzled with caramel and chocolate sauce. You can even sit outside year-round — when the weather is cold and the patio heaters are on.

The Harp & Crown
Location: 19930 W Catawba Ave, Cornelius, NC 28031
Cuisine: Irish
Not just heaters: The Harp & Crown has a giant fireplace and hearth on its impressive outdoor patio, perfect for keeping you warm while noshing on a corn beef Reuben, Irish meatloaf or European chocolate mousse. It’s a great place to get a slice of Ireland without leaving the States.
Hello, Sailor

Cuisine: American, seafood
Enjoy gazing over the lake with the cool breeze outside but you’re warm and toasty under the warm patio heaters at Hello, Sailor. Order a filling Smoked Chicken Breast, which is korean bbq smoked chicken and comes with peruvian corona beans and smoked field peas.

The South End location of this rustic gastropub offers an enclosed patio with heaters, while the Northcross location offers a covered patio with heaters. Either spot is great for dishes big and small, and even for brunch.

Cuisine: seafood
The Waterman Fish Bar has heated patios with fire pits. Order up some oysters, which are $1.50 during weekday happy hour. They’ll pair well with your favorite boat drink or mocktail.
