Start your weekend by unwinding with live music in the Plaza of Birkdale Village. Bring your lawn chair or blanket, and enjoy food and drink from Birkdale businesses. The band on May 19 is Drinker Street.
Saturday, May 20
Location: Smithville Park, 19710 S Ferry Street, Cornelius
Time: 5 to 9 p.m.
Cost: Free
Enjoy music from JMS Jazz Group and Buff Dillard, as well as children’s activities, art vendors, and food and drink. Coolers and picnic baskets are permitted. Parking will be available at several nearby lots, with free shuttles to the park.
Sunday, May 21
Fisher Farm Archery Range Grand Opening
Location: 21215 Shearer Road, Davidson, NC 28036
Time: 2 to 3:30 p.m.
Cost: Free
This archery range will be the only public range in the North Mecklenburg area. Once open, it will host open hours and programs. At the ribbon cutting, there will be a ceremonial shooting of the arrows, followed by a “Try Archery” event.
