The bankruptcy settlement in the Panthers failed Rock Hill project has been approved.

Calling it “momentous day,” a federal judge approved the settlement from the David Tepper-owned company to officially end the contentious civil battle over the South Carolina headquarters project.

Andrew Dys reports on the action in court today.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police is cracking down on suspected illegal gambling.

After a major court case involving table game “fish games” at arcades was settled, police are investigating the businesses once again.

For the last several years, police departments in North Carolina have been temporarily blocked from prosecuting those who run arcades, said Kevin Triola, a sergeant with CMPD’s Alcoholic Beverage Control unit.

A TikTok video of a Winston-Salem State University student getting handcuffed has gone viral.

In the video, 20-year-old Leila Hamoud appears to be in distress when two WSSU police officers removed her from class in handcuffs after he argued with her professor over an assignment. The video has since amassed more than 5 million views.
