1. Second restaurant chain owned by former Panther files for bankruptcy

Two restaurant chains owned by the same Charlotte company have now filed for bankruptcy protection.

Back Yard Burgers, owned by Axum Capital Partners whose managing director is former Carolina Panthers wide receiver Mushin Muhammad II, filed for bankruptcy on June 26. On July 19, Wild Wing Cafe filed for Chapter 11.

2. He’s a huge Carolina Panthers fan and podcaster. He’s also an inspiration

Cody Lachney loves the Panthers.

He’s one of the hosts of the C3 Panthers Podcast. Lachney was also born with spinal muscular atrophy type 2, but he doesn’t let that stop him from becoming a well-known personality among the biggest Carolina fans.

3. Get your puppy cuddling zen on with this Charlotte dog rescue’s yoga class

Yoga AND puppies? Sign me up.

Pits & Giggles is a rescue organization that helps pregnant pit bull-mix mama dogs. They began experimenting with puppy yoga classes earlier this year to help with fundraising efforts.

4. A family called police. Nearly 24 hours later, a missing NC woman was found dead.

A Belmont woman who went missing Friday was found dead in Lake Wylie yesterday, police said.

Brianne Maurine Fry, 26, was last seen Friday around 2 a.m. and her family reported her missing the following evening, according to a Gaston County Police Department new release.
