A Missouri woman was left in shock after seeing how much she won on a lottery ticket she had no plans on buying.

The woman was running errands in Richmond Heights when her sister made a request, according to a Aug. 1 news release from the Missouri Lottery.

“I really wasn’t looking to get tickets that day,” she told lottery officials. “(My sister) asked if I was stopping to get gas, and I said, ‘yeah.’ She said, ‘Can you pick me up a couple of (Lottery) tickets?’”

The woman stopped at a QuikTrip and bought several “$100,000 Diamond Dazzler” Scratchers tickets.

“I wasn’t going to get me any tickets, but when I got up there I was like, ‘Just give me six of the same $5 tickets,’” she said. “Then I got in my car and tore the first two tickets off for my sister.”

The woman had four tickets left for herself. She soon realized the game’s $100,000 top prize was waiting for her on one of those tickets.

“I was in total shock. My heart started beating real bad and I was shaking. I was like, ‘No way. This is not happening!’” she laughed. “It could have very much been (my sister’s) tickets.”

The woman said she plans to take a family vacation with her winnings.

Richmond Heights is about a 10-mile drive west of St. Louis.
