A lucky poker player is taking home a big jackpot from a Las Vegas casino after ending up with the rarest hand in the game.

The gambler won $139,789 at the Golden Nugget Las Vegas Hotel & Casino, the hotel said in a Sept. 30 post on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The poker player was dealt five cards at random and ended up with a royal flush.

A royal flush includes an ace, king, queen, jack and 10 — all in the same suit.

“This hand represents the rarest possible made hand in poker,” according to Upswing Poker.

The Golden Nugget is one of the oldest casinos in Las Vegas. It was built downtown in 1946 and is along the Fremont Street Experience.

Many people can gamble or play games of chance without harm. However, for some, gambling is an addiction that can ruin lives and families.

If you or a loved one shows signs of gambling addiction, you can seek help by calling the national gambling hotline at 1-800-522-4700 or visiting the National Council on Problem Gambling website.
