A woman was struck by a hit-and-run driver and left injured in a ditch overnight until someone discovered her, Oregon deputies said.

She was found before 7:20 a.m. July 13 on Northwest Dairy Creek Road in North Plains, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

Deputies said she had been riding her bike alone in the rural area the night before when she was hit.

That vehicle then fled the scene leaving her injured in a ditch overnight, deputies said.

A passerby found her in the morning and called for help, deputies said.

She was taken to a hospital with injuries to her face and leg among others.

Anyone who has information about this incident can call authorities at 503-629-0111 and reference case number 50-25-9657.

The roadway she was on is narrow near farmlands, wooded areas and scattered homes.

North Plains is about a 20-mile drive northwest from Portland.
