Of the roughly 3,000 write-in votes during the 2022 Charlotte mayoral and City Council general election, some clear winners emerged.

The most popular choice — more than doubling the number of votes for second place — were responses such as “Anyone Else” or “None,” according to data from the Mecklenburg County Board of Elections.

Of the real people, District 1 councilman Larken Egleston, who lost in the May primary while running at-large, received the most votes, with about 140.
