Why are you running for school board?

We need a true independent. Someone who can be the real referee between the parties and the stalemate, or just down right anger that has been the hallmark of our school board for way too long.

We need a proven leader and successful business person who can make the decisions and has dealt with millions of dollars while in business, so they are not overwhelmed when confronted with budgets and cuts.

And we need someone who is willing to donate back their salary and expenses to something which helps the kids. This may prove to be something we can get the entire board to do, to show we are in it for the Kids and not a part time job, or political stepping stone.

Wait till you see all the great things, I can make happen. That is all I really need to say.

What are your top priorities for the district?

Having our Supers submit their ideas on how our system should change, and pick the best vision from that group, hire them and support them as we have never seen a board do in Char/Meck in quite some time.

We need a board that is in the background and not micromanaging, only two influences should be involved, the Super and the Parents.

And while we are on that, we need to get all the groups out of our schools. They only exist and grow, when things are bad. So maybe all that money donated to them, could be sent directly to the schools to do something more in line with education and not socialism.

You kids are going to learn, all it takes is being honest about who needs help and making changes that either get them up to date, or help them prepare for a career which does not rely so heavily on education.

What are your thoughts on hiring a superintendent?

Great idea.

And get the candidates to submit their visions for CMS, giving us detailed information they have created, and pick the best one, then support that person.

The Super should run the schools, not the media happy board.

What are your goals for student assignment?

I am not for socialism, that said we need to stop this political/social churning and start making schools a place to learn, period..

With great schools in you own neighborhood, it will make your neighborhood even better.

See, we have been doing it the opposite, for way too long.

What should CMS do to address persistently low performance by large numbers of students at many schools?

Competition, in classes, schools and competition which creates a desire to be more than you are today.

We have made it almost a felony to allow Children to compete.

A Teacher back in the good old days, might start giving out papers, handing them high to the students, then the final few he would push to the students with his foot.

Now that would be all over the news today. But it made the students work harder and almost all of them became productive folks today.

No real harm was done, but it got the point across, maybe we need more of that today.

What should CMS do to attract, motivate and keep strong teachers?

The business community should offer low cost auto repairs, free rides, lower interest rates on loans, discounts in a lot of areas such as food, dry cleaning, baby sitting, elder care, , and maybe start building houses in neighborhoods which are challenged, helping to get more Teachers in those very neighborhoods.

What is the district's biggest challenge, and how would you address it?

We all know that a billion dollar business should not be always pretending to be tied to the rail road track and needing more money to do what they are doing.

If CMS has a record of stewardship which showed results that were better than we have seen, I would say they need more.

But we all know that magic amount of money they need to finally educate the Kids will just disappear when they come back asking for more money.

We need someone like me in there looking at the numbers and where the money is flowing. Follow the Money.

What is the best thing about CMS?

They can circle the wagons faster and better than any other government agency I have ever seen.

The protection factor is helped by the media and we all know that the many things which need to be reported are often ignored, unless it is a pet peeve of some media person.

So that is what CMS does best, they unload on the slightest threat.

What else should voters know about you?

I am not going to take my Salary, technology fee, or expenses, and it will come up to close to 100 thousand over my four years.

I am going to ask the others to do the same, so this money can go to something which helps the Kids.

I am an Independent, always voted for the person and not the party, even when I was with a party several years ago.

I sold two businesses, had a career in Commercial Lending and I love Technology.

I will help get your schools back into the learning mode they once were, but I am going to need your help by getting me as head of the School Board. This can be done by getting me the most votes.

So take my offer of close to 100 thousand and vote for me, I will get your Children a place that makes sense and will make you proud to one again say, my Kids go to CMS.
