These Charlotte event spaces are official venues for RNC 2020
Republican National Convention planning officials have posted a list of 17 official venues for the August event, which is expected to draw more than 50,000 delegates, guests and media members to Charlotte.
The list includes some of the largest and most sought-after event spaces in Charlotte, including Founders Hall, the Mint Museum Uptown and the NASCAR Hall of Fame, according to the RNC website. Most are within walking distance of the convention’s main sites at uptown’s Spectrum Center and the Charlotte Convention Center.
Specific events, dates and times have not yet been released for the various gatherings at local venues.
The sites will be available to “all relevant third-parties” that plan to host events around the convention, beginning in early spring, according to the convention’s Committee on Arrangements. Events must be booked through the committee.
The committee also has more than 100 other Charlotte “partner venues” for convention-related events that will be booked directly with the sites on a first-come basis.
Organizers expect 1,200 special events around the Aug. 24-27 convention, which the RNC projects will have a $300 million economic impact including 15,000 booked hotel rooms.
