‘Making the Band’ auditions are coming to NC — with rapper DaBaby as a judge
The show “Making the Band” is coming back — with its sights on finding talent in North Carolina.
So it’s only fitting that Charlotte rapper DaBaby is set to judge auditions in his hometown.
The Grammy-nominated artist will join a casting call scheduled for March 13, according to a video fellow rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs posted Friday on Instagram.
The “Making the Band” reboot is coming 18 years after Diddy first launched the show, according to MTV.
The cable network says the star-searching series “chronicled the real-life drama and intimate journeys of chart-topping musical acts Danity Kane, Day26, Da Band and Donnie Klang.”
This time around, Diddy’s sons and choreographer LaurieAnn Gibson are on hand to help recognize singing and dancing skills, MTV said last week on its website.
“DaBaby confirmed his participation after sharing another of Diddy’s posts to his Instagram story over the weekend saying, ‘Guess who one [of] the judges is in Charlotte?’” Qcitymetro.com reported.
Do you think you have what it takes to make it onto the show?
The “Making the Band” website hasn’t set a specific location for the North Carolina auditions but says call-backs are set for March 14. Outside of Charlotte, castings are also scheduled for:
- Feb. 28 to 29 in Atlanta
- March 7 to 8 in Houston
- March 21 to 22 in New York
