Did WSOC air Jimmy Kimmel Live on Tuesday in Charlotte? We fact-check
Jimmy Kimmel Live aired on WSOC-TV Tuesday night in Charlotte, despite confusion among some Spectrum cable viewers.
Dozens of ABC affiliates across North Carolina and the country pulled the comedian’s late-night show this week after comments about the assassination of Charlie Kirk. But in Charlotte, even though local program guides and DVRs labeled the late-night slot as “TBA,” the show itself was aired as scheduled, the WSOC newsroom confirmed to The Charlotte Observer.
Viewers who set their DVRs to record Jimmy Kimmel Live may have found recordings labeled “TBA” or noticed last-minute changes in the channel lineup. The station made multiple updates to its programming schedule, which led some TV providers — including Spectrum — to display a generic name instead of the program title.
The inaccurate title prevented many viewers from successfully recording the program, which is available online on WSOC’s website.
