A storm with snow and ice hit Charlotte and western North Carolina early Sunday morning, creating slick roads and putting thousands of Carolinians without power.
The National Weather Service predicts up to 0.35 inches of ice could freeze on Charlotte roads. The freezing rain from this storm could damage power lines and put even more residents without electricity. Duke Energy warned that up to 750,000 customers in the region could lose power.
The Charlotte Observer is covering this storm, and you can find all of our live coverage here.
