Weather forecasters currently expect up to an inch of sleet and around a half-inch of ice in the Charlotte area, with hazardous conditions lasting through Monday afternoon. The National Weather Service warned Sunday that ice and downed tree limbs could make roads “treacherous and impassable.”

CATS services include bus, rail and special transportation services for people with disabilities.

The agency originally planned to delay the start of services to noon, it announced Sunday morning in a news release. Around 11 am, however, it announced services would be canceled for the remainder of the day.
