Heading to a Hornets game this season? Here’s what you can bring inside Spectrum Center
The Charlotte Hornets’ season started Wednesday night with a win over the Atlanta Hawks at the Spectrum Center.
If you’re looking for something to do on the weekend, the team’s schedule features 19 home games on weekend dates, including eight Fridays, eight Saturdays and three Sundays.
The home schedule also includes matchups with LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers on Feb. 5, and Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors on March 29.
If you plan on attending a Hornets game this season, here’s what to bring — and what to leave at home.
What items are not permitted inside the Spectrum Center?
According to the Spectrum Center policy, the following items are not allowed inside the arena:
Large banners and flags: Items that are affixed to a pole or stick made of wood, metal, plastic or any other hard material and that are more than 18 inches in length
Whistles, foghorns, air horns or plastic horns, such as vuvuzelas and didgeridoos
Laser pointers or any similar devices
Items intended to create optical illusions or interfere with the ability of the eye to perceive depth or distance, such as pinwheels or umbrellas
Any weapons or items that can be used with the intent to inflict damage, including guns and knives
Cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, cigars, vape pens and pipes
iPads or tablets
Aerosol cans
Fireworks
Frisbees
Mace or pepper spray
Poles, selfie-sticks or missile-like objects that can be thrown
Strollers
Tripods
Umbrellas
Beach balls
Bats and clubs
Skateboards or hoverboards
Illegal substances
What items are permitted inside the Spectrum Center?
According to arena policy, the following items are permitted as long as they are inspected by security personnel:
Service animals
Signs that are non-flammable and small enough for one person to hold
Strollers
Bags smaller than 10 inches by 10 inches by four inches
The arena recommends not bringing bags, as they will be required to go through an x-ray machine before entering, which can lead to longer wait times.
