N.C. State football added two offensive line commitments to its 2023 class over the weekend.

With the additions of offensive tackles Charlie Symonds (6-7, 285), from Connecticut, and Obadiah Obasuyi (6-7, 275), from Georgia, Dave Doeren now has three offensive linemen committed to the Wolfpack’s 2023 class.

Obasuyi, who committed on Sunday, went to camp over the weekend at N.C. State. He selected the Wolfpack over Mississippi State, Duke, Georgia Tech and Appalachian State, among others. Symonds, who committed last Thursday, picked N.C. State over Boston College, California, Duke and Virginia, among others.

The offensive tackle commitments come less than two months after former Wolfpack left tackle Ikem Ekwonu was selected No. 6 overall by the Carolina Panthers in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Symonds is a four-star prospect and the No. 4 player in the state of Connecticut, according to 247Sports. He plays for the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut.

Obasuyi, from Alpharetta High, also plays defensive line in high school.

Darion Rivers (6-6, 255), an offensive tackle from West Charlotte, verbally committed to N.C. State in March.

The trio of linemen join Heritage High quarterback Lex Thomas and Havelock High tight end Javonte Vereen in the Wolfpack’s Class of 2023.

More top prospects scheduled to visit N.C. State

N.C. State is just getting started with its 2023 class.

The Wolfpack hosted three days of camps on consecutive weekends this month. N.C. State will host 7-on-7s starting Thursday.

Eight 2023 prospects are scheduled to be on campus for visits this Thursday. The group is highlighted by a pair of in-state targets. Four-star Charlotte running back Daylan ‘Hollywood’ Smothers, the No. 9 player in the state, is scheduled to visit Thursday. Smothers was The Observer’s offensive player of the year the past two seasons. As a junior, he rushed for 1,581 yards and 28 touchdowns.

After leading Vance High to a state title in 2020, he was named Mr. Football in North Carolina.

Smothers made headlines last week when it was announced he would be suspended for his senior year due to an eligibility issue. Smothers played three seasons at Vance/Chambers before transferring to West Charlotte in the spring.

His former Vance teammate, wide receiver Kevin Concepcion, is also scheduled to visit on Thursday. Concepcion (5-11, 173) was on campus during the first N.C. State camp on June 3.

N.C. State is scheduled to host two more in-state recruits on June 22 in wide receivers Noah Rogers (Rolesville) and Nathan Leacock (Millbrook). Rogers is the No. 1 player in the state in the Class of 2023. Last season, he caught 70 passes for 1,432 yards and 22 touchdowns.
