Nearly two months after announcing on Twitter that he was committing to Harvard, Lincolnton High wide receiver Sage Surratt has decided to reopen his recruitment, his family told the Observer.

Surratt, a 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior, has not decommitted from Harvard, but is taking additional official visits. Seniors can sign scholarships with schools in February.

Surratt has one visit scheduled - to Wake Forest the weekend of Jan. 13. The family said Surratt, who holds several N.C. receiving records, also hopes to visit Duke and North Carolina. Surratt’s brother, Chazz, is a freshman quarterback at North Carolina.

Wake Forest, Duke and North Carolina have extended scholarship offers to Sage Surratt, who helped lead Lincolnton to the N.C. 2A Western Regional championship game last week.
