Union County cancels after school activities Wednesday; updated area schedule
The National Weather Service is predicting a 30 percent chance of snow flurries in the Charlotte area Wednesday afternoon, with a strong chance that will increase after 3 p.m. Snow is expected to end by 5.
As of 11:30 a.m., the weather service doesn’t expect accumulation in Charlotte, but areas outside the city could get harder hit.
Some schools are already beginning to react. Union County Schools canceled all after school activities. Anson County Schools, Union County Schools and closing early Wednesday. At least one Mecklenburg County middle school, Alexander Graham, will not hold basketball practice Wednesday due to lack of heat in the gym.
North Mecklenburg High did not hold school Wednesday because several buildings and the cafeteria did not have heat.
