Two new teams join Observer Sweet 16 girls basketball poll, and there’s a new No. 1
Harrisburg’s Hickory Ridge High School is the new No. 1 team in the Charlotte Observer girls basketball Sweet 16.
The Ragin’ Bulls (20-1) have won 20 straight games for former college basketball head coach Tolonda Rose-Simmons and have won the Southwestern 4A regular-season conference championship.
Hickory Ridge jumped to No. 1 after No. 8 Berry upset former No. 1 Ardrey Kell Friday.
Two new teams join the poll this week. No. 15 Maiden (18-2) has won five games in a row, and No. 16 Union Academy is on a 10-game win streak.
