Charlotte Catholic state champion is Charlotte Observer prep football player of the week

The final weekly winner of the Charlotte Observer high school football player of the week is Charlotte Catholic’s Paul Neel.

Neel helped Charlotte Catholic win its third straight N.C. 3A state championship with a 23-7 win over Southern Nash last week.

Neel ran 27 times for 156 yards and two touchdowns in the 3A championship game. He also had 25 yards in kickoff returns.
