Tuesday’s Key Games

No. 1 North Mecklenburg (14-1, 5-0 I-MECK) at No. 4 Vance (13-1, 5-0), 7:30: An experienced and talented team (North Meck) faces an energetic young team (Vance) playing one of its biggest games to date. Can Vance handle the Vikings pressure and poise? This one may sell out right after school lets out. And the girls game features No. 11 North Meck (11-3, 4-1) at No. 4 Vance (11-4, 3-2) with about four of the county’s top 25 players going.

No. 10 Providence girls (13-2, 4-0 SoMECK) at Olympic (11-3, 4-1), 6: Providence leads Olympic and Ardrey Kell (10-6, 4-1) by a narrow margin. Providence hosts Ardrey Kell Friday.

No. 6 Cannon School (16-5, 2-0 CISAA) at Providence Day (10-7, 2-0), 7:30: Providence Day, which ruled this league for so many years, has won three in a row and hunts an upset that would give it first place alone. Cannon, which doesn’t start a senior, has won five straight. A win would back up Friday’s big home victory over Charlotte Latin.

Northside Christian (14-6, 5-1 MAC) at SouthLake Christian (5-14, 0-6), 7:30: Northside 6-8 senior Jaden Seymour is scheduled to play his first game since suffering a season-ending knee injury about a year ago. Phenom Hoop Report ranks Seymour as the No. 12 N.C. player in the class of 2020.
