Here are the NC high school football players of the week

Here are the state’s top five performances from Week 2 of the high school football season.

Ny’Tavious Huskey, Crest: In a 54-49 win over Shelby, Huskey completed 21-of-36 passes for 418 yards and seven touchdowns. He ran 14 times for 75 yards and another score. Huskey connected with Javarius Green 10 times for 308 yards and five touchdowns.

Whitt Newbauer, Cardinal Gibbons: 15-of-24 for 221 yards and three touchdowns plus three carries for 50 yards in a 31-0 win over Richmond Senior.

Caden Morton, New Hanover: 16 carries for 146 yards and a touchdown in a 29-28 win at Butler.

Will Rhodes, Burlington Williams: 28 tackles, including two for a loss, a sack and a caused fumble in a 37-20 win over Southern Alamance.

Luke Bailey, Providence: ran 36 times for 429 yards and nine touchdowns in a 64-42 win over Parkwood. Bailey broke set a new Mecklenburg County single-game rushing record and broke his own school mark. He also set a new state record for single game rushing touchdowns.
