N.C. State recruit Kaila Ealey of Raleigh Broughton led the N.C. East all-stars to a 84-72 win over the West at the annual N.C. Coaches Association all-star game in Greensboro Monday night.
The game matches some of the state’s top graduated seniors from the eastern and western parts of the state against each other. Private school players are not eligible.
Ealey’s big performance led the East to their second win in three years.
Ealey’s East team had 16 steals and the West suffered through 24 turnovers.

Two Observer-area players played in the game: Myers Park’s D.D. Rogers, an N.C. State recruit, and Weddington’s Stephanie Watts, a McDonald’s All-American who will play at North Carolina.
Hickory’s Yazmen Hannah, who led her team to the 3A state title, led the West with 16 points. Rogers and Watts each had 10 points.
All-Star Soccer Tuesday, football Wednesday
The girls all-star game begins Tuesday at 6:30 at UNC-Greensboro. The boys game will follow at approximately 8:30 p.m.
Observer-area players in the girls soccer game include Emmily Cowie (Hough), Megan Goodling (Myers Park) and Nikki Torres (Union Academy). Boys players include CJ Bradley (Hough), Adam Cosgrove (Community School of Davidson), Seth Jones (Hunter Huss), Tresor Mbuyu (Garinger), Will Silva (Lake Norman Charter) and Travis Whitt (Cuthbertson).
The annual football game starts Wednesday at 8 p.m. at Greensboro Grimsley.
