Ardrey Kell’s Sofia Janowicz wins Observer athlete of the week
Ardrey Kell volleyball player Sofia Janowicz is The Observer’s high school athlete of the week.
Janowicz, a senior, had 24 kills, 29 digs, five blocks and two aces to help Ardrey Kell to three wins in as many days and earn SoMeck 4A conference tournament’s MVP honors Oct. 14-16.
Janowicz helped Ardrey Kell beat Berry (3-0, Oct. 14), Palisades (3-0, Oct. 15) and Myers Park, 3-2, in the SoMeck 4A conference title game Oct. 16.
Janowicz had 241 kills, 256 digs, 34 blocks and 23 aces for Ardrey Kell (17-14) this season.
