Boys’ rewind: Fresh off Alabama visit, Chambers’ Tarris Bouie shines in tourney win
Last Saturday, Chambers High boys’ basketball star Tarris Bouie took an unofficial visit to Alabama to watch the Crimson Tide play the No. 1 team in America, arch rival Auburn.
Monday night, back in Charlotte, Bouie showed why he’s a four-star recruit that the Crimson Tide are courting heavily.
In a 98-76 win over Harding in the first round of the Queen City 3A/4A conference tournament, Bouie had 35 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks, showing why he’s currently ranked among the nation’s top 75 players in the junior class.
Bouie, a 6-6 wing, is averaging 21 points, seven rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks per game for Chambers (17-8).
Bouie’s team won its third straight game Monday and advanced to Tuesday’s conference semifinals. The Cougars will host Hopewell or Hough at 8 p.m.
On Monday, Chambers also got monster games from top 100 junior Markus Kerr (25 points, 13 rebounds, six assists, two steals) and Cameron Thompson (17 points, 13 rebounds).
