East Mecklenburg’s Jacob Addison is The Observer’s boys’ athlete of the week

East Mecklenburg baseball player Jacob Addison is The Observer’s high school boys’ athlete of the week.

Addison, a junior, struck out 13 batters in six innings, earning the victory in an 8-1 win over Butler on March 18. Addison was also 1-for-4 at the plate in the victory.

Addison also hit 2 for 3 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs scored in a 10-9 victory at Butler on March 21.

Addison is 4-1 on the mound with 50 strikeouts in 25.1 innings of work with a 0.83 earned-run average (ERA), while also batting .406 with a home run, a triple, four doubles, 16 RBI and eight runs scored for East Mecklenburg (8-4) this season.
