Charlotte Christian’s Anna Hinde named NC Gatorade softball player of the year
Charlotte Christian’s Anna Hinde is the 2025 N.C. Gatorade softball player of the year.
Hinde is a 5-foot-4 senior catcher and shortstop who is ranked as the nation’s No. 1 overall prospect by Perfect Game.
This season, she hit .679 with seven home runs, 28 RBIs and scored 38 runs. She struck out three times in 86 at-bats. On defense, Hinde threw out seven runners attempting to steal a base, picked off three runners and made only one error. Charlotte Christian finished 16-6 and won the N.C. Independent Schools’ Division I state championship.
A Florida State recruit, Hinde has 4.26 GPA and has volunteered locally on behalf of Beds for Kids, Loaves & Fishes, Coats for Kids, the Carolina Miracle League Summer Camp and a homeless community support initiative.
At her school, Hinde has served on the student senate and as a house chaplain, ASTEM Camp counselor and math tutor.
“Anna is an outstanding defender on the field and a threat at the plate,” said Brittany Pickett, a coach with Team NC club softball. “The grit that she brings to the game shows in her leadership on the field and in her tenacious work ethic off the field and in her community. Having excelled against national level competition for several years in combination with her impressive softball IQ and her love of the game, Anna is, without a doubt, one of the most talented athletes in the 2025 class.”
